Title: Our Children and Young People – Our Pledge, Action plan 2007 - 2008
Authors: OFMDFM
Abstract: This plan is a cross-government production. It sets out what will be done by all eleven Northern Ireland departments, the Northern Ireland Office and the Northern Ireland Court Service in the short to medium term to deliver on the aims of the 10-year strategy for Children and Young People, launched by the Minister for Children and Young People on 20 June 2006. The plan will be reviewed on an annual basis and updated as necessary. Our overall pledge is to create an environment where all children and young people thrive and look forward with confidence to the future. Delivery on the pledge will be measured by improvements in outcomes.

Title: A Shared Future: First Triennial Action Plan 2006 - 2009
Authors: OFMDFM
Abstract: Policy and strategic framework for good relations in Northern Ireland. The publication of A Shared Future in
March 2005 established the Government’s vision for the future
of Northern Ireland - a peaceful, inclusive, prosperous, stable
and fair society firmly founded on the achievement of reconciliation, tolerance, and mutual trust and the protection
and vindication of human rights for all.

Better Government for Northern Ireland

Title: Better Government for Northern Ireland
Authors: OFMDFM
Abstract: The Review of Public Administration (RPA) will introduce the most far-reaching
reform of the system of public administration in Northern Ireland for a generation.
It was launched by the Northern Ireland Executive in June 2002 but due to the
suspension of devolution has been taken forward by direct rule ministers. Local
political parties have been consulted at various stages.
Extensive public consultation showed that
people wanted a more streamlined system
of public administration that allows easy
access to services, is easily understood, is
fair, and has clear lines of responsibility and accountability. They wanted better
integrated and co-ordinated services, which could be achieved by organising
public services around the same administrative boundaries. There was an
overwhelming desire to see wasteful bureaucracy reduced and scarce resources
redirected to the front line.

Our Children and Young People – Our Pledge: A Ten Years Strategy for Children and Young People in Northern Ireland 2006-2016

Title: Our Children and Young People – Our Pledge: A Ten Years Strategy for Children and Young People in Northern Ireland 2006-2016
Authors: OFMDFM
Abstract: The aim of this strategy is to ensure that by 2016 all our children and young people are fulfilling their potential. We want those who are doing well to continue to do well. However, there is evidence that despite significant investment by government over many years, there is insufficient progress being made to improve the lives of our most marginalised and disadvantaged children and young people. Some of that evidence is present in the statistics throughout this document.
